Maximum Penetration Ranking Based Siting and PSO Assisted Goal Programming Based Sizing of DG Units in Radial Distribution System

چکیده

This paper proposes a maximum penetration ranking based approach for siting of Distributed Generators (DG) in a radial distribution system. In this method, the system buses are ranked based on the maximum power that can be injected at each system bus without causing voltage violations. This ranking is called as Maximum Penetration Ranking (MPR) and the buses of laterals with highest MPR are selected as the location of DG units. Thereafter, the sizes of DG units are identified by optimizing a multiobjective function formulated using Goal Programming Approach and solved by Particle Swarm Optimization. The proposed method has been validated by carrying out several case studies on 25-bus radial distribution system using the software program developed in MATLAB environment.
